Ecocert

ECOCERT was founded in France in 1991 to certify environmentally friendly (organic) food production. It is now one of the largest organic certification organizations in the world and carries out inspections in over 110 countries.

In addition to food, ECOCERT also inspects cosmetics, detergents, perfumes, and textiles, including social responsibility and fair trade. For example, Ecocert controls 70% of organic agriculture and the processing industry in France and 30% worldwide.

ECOCERT’s fundamental mission is to verify and certify strict compliance with set or chosen standards.

In Germany, ECOCERT Germany is an inspection body for organic farming approved by the competent authorities nationwide and partner of the organic farming associations (Bioland, Naturland, Demeter etc.). Ecocert also inspects in the areas of organic and natural cosmetics (ECOCERT and COSMOS), organic textiles (GOTS, ECOCERT), natural detergents and cleaning agents, food safety and fair trade (ECOCERT).

Naturland, Rainforest Alliance Certified, UTZ Certified, Fair For Life, and Hand in Hand are seals certified according to Ecocert standards.
